AX.25 Protocol Tools

AX.25 is a fully functioning (if obscure) networking protocol that has evolved over time between the hacking hobby projects of many amateur radio enthusiasts. Pax25's comprehensive toolkit contains many tools that help you work with the protocol and packets.

You can use these utilities to expand the capabilities of Pax25 and contribute to its development, or to build your own services and protocols.

Note

At this time, pax25 only supports what could roughly be termed as 'AX.25 2.0', rather than the latest versions of the protocol natively, such as 2.2 and up. This allows us to be compatible with nearly all hardware, although we may not have the full features of the latest versions at present.

For example, we do not yet support mod128 or selective frame rejection, though these may be supported in the future.

Learn about how frames are constructed, about matching functions, and helper utilities available for working with frames.
